Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder
Project "Too young to drink! Will just one sip of alcohol affect the fetus?"
When a woman is pregnant, everything she eats or drinks influences the development of the baby. Alcohol can damage the baby’s brain, causing it to be born with mental retardation or other health problems that can affect its entire life.
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is caused by alcohol consumption during pregnancy.
The main goal of the project is to organize a campaign on the effects of alcohol consumption on the fetus and the diagnosis of FASD.
As part of the campaign, information materials (leaflets, brochures, videos, books, etc.) will be produced, which will be distributed during official events and will also be posted on the official page of the Ancora Salvării Foundation, on the nevoispeciale.ro platform and on social networks. Workshops will be organized with specialists from the country and abroad, during which current information will be provided regarding the diagnosis of the disorder as well as information about possible intervention methods. This project runs from 8 March 2025 till 31 December 2026.
The project is financially supported by the Embassy of the Netherlands
